Baton Rouge, LA – HOPE Ministries of Baton Rouge and The Way to Work Sustainable Workforce SOLUTIONS © vision is to provide sustainable workforce solutions that create a prosperous community. In alignment with this vision, they are excited to announce the formation of SKILLED BR, a city-wide collaboration aimed at improving workforce development and services for individuals seeking training opportunities and employment. Community leaders are uniting in a groundbreaking initiative to tackle the skilled workforce shortage, with key partners including the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC), Louisiana Economic Development (LED), Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance (GBRIA), and the Alliance Safety Council. Together with the Greater Baton Rouge Society of Human Resource Managers (GBRSHRM), local industrial leaders, service providers, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations, this powerful coalition is driving a transformative effort to reshape the region's workforce landscape and secure a prosperous future for all.
SKILLED BR providers equip individuals with the tools necessary to secure better job prospects and higher wages by offering specialized skills training and state-recognized industry certifications. These certifications open doors to stable, well-paying careers, ensuring participants can make meaningful contributions to the workforce.
Additionally, HOPE Ministries partnered with Envoc (LA Wallet) to create a new online platform that serves as a centralized resource, set to launch in March 2025. The platform is designed to enhance interaction among all stakeholders and streamline communication. It also facilitates collaboration with local professional and educational institutions, churches, nonprofits, and certification programs to develop customized training aligning with industry needs.
HOPE Ministries is excited to announce the 3rd Annual Business and Industry Luncheon, scheduled for March 18, 2025. At this event, HOPE Ministries/The Way to Work will unveil the SKILLED BR online platform. Join us for this important event as we discuss the urgent need for a skilled workforce in Baton Rouge. The luncheon will feature a keynote speaker, a panel discussion, and personal stories shedding light on the challenges and opportunities within our community.
“We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed,” said Janet Simmons, President and CEO of HOPE Ministries.
